Throughout Baltimore, Rho Xi Omega’s history spans 30 years of service. We are a leading the legacy of vibrant and visionary women who founded Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. 111 years ago.
We have continued to impact the lives of families, children, schools, and the community through countless hours of community service and programs. As an award-winning chapter, Rho Xi Omega’s current service initiatives focus on our International Signature Program, “Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service”.

Target I | HBCU For Life: A Call to Action
Alpha Kappa Alpha will continue to focus on education with an emphasis on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The Rho Xi Omega chapter will promote and market Historically Black Colleges and Universities and encourage students to attend HBCUs as a sustainability measure. Activities will include researching and publishing information regarding prominent Alpha Kappa Alpha women and other notable individuals who attended HBCUs.
Target II | Women's Healthcare and Wellness
The Women's Healthcare and Wellness target promotes health awareness in three areas: Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention, Heart Health, Nutrition and Wellness, and Care For the Caregivers.
Target III | Building Your Economic Legacy
The Building Your Economic Legacy target emphasizes areas in financial planning, asset accumulation, and wealth building (savings and investment, wealth building, debt management, and credit improvement).
Target IV | The Arts!
The Arts! target will expose students to arts enrichment and culture by focusing on visual and performing arts and by showcasing talent through the exploration of writers, entertainers and various other artists.
Target V | Global Impact
Our Target 5 will engage in programming that is designed to enhance the international footprint of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. International partnerships will include Soles 4 Souls, Lions Club International, Pillowcase Project, and Refugees in America Assistance Program (RAAP).

Alpha Kappa Alpha members will implement International Community Service Days annually to highlight the organization’s collective impact in program target areas:

We intend to continue engaging the community through service and programs. Our chapter members are committed to life-long membership and dedicated to impacting the lives of others through teaching, learning, and discovering while continuing the legacy started by our founders.
