Greetings and Welcome,

Rho Xi Omega Charities, Inc. was incorporated on August 31, 1991. It is the 501(C) (3) service arm of Rho Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This non-profit corporation was begun to carry out the educational and charitable goals of Rho Xi Omega Chapter. Programs of service are carried out by the chapter members who also are members of Rho Xi Omega Charities.

At its inception, Rho Xi Omega Charities was interested in forming a non-profit corporation to allow contributions to its programs of service to be tax deductible to the donor. The intent was to attract corporate and small business donations. Rho Xi Omega Charities is governed by federal and state laws as well as regulations for non-profit organizations to insure that money collected from the public is used only for charitable purposes.

The major fundraiser is the Annual Step Show usually held the first Saturday in May. This activity allows Rho Xi Omega Charities to fund and operate our community programs along with grants that may be received. Our major programs are the After School AKAdemy, the Ivy Reading AKAdemy and Camp Font-Tastic.

Our community programs are the heart and soul of Rho Xi Omega Charities. The members work hard to support these worthwhile activities. We believe in service to all mankind and this is promoted through our many community programs.
