Greetings and Welcome,
Rho Xi Omega Charities was organized for educational and charitable purposes in conjunction with Rho Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The goal of this 501(c) 3 nonprofit includes:
1. Promote national programs of service that are identified by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
2. Carry out programs that foster and encourage high scholastic achievement
3. Provide financial assistance to worthy students
4. Promote programs that endorse peace, harmony and understanding in the world-wide community
5. Design programs that counteract the negative socio-economic impact of poverty
6. And to promote community unity in matters relating to education, culture, citizenship and general welfare of the community.
The major fundraiser is the Annual Step Show usually held the first Saturday in May. This activity enables Rho Xi Omega Charities to fund and operate our community programs along with grants that may be received. Our major programs are the After School AKAdemy, and Camp Font-Tastic.
The 2009 year has been successful in funding and implementation of a majority of these goals. There remain many opportunities for Rho Xi Omega Charities to continually improve through reevaluation and reorganization that enables us to plant long range goals and strategies that will sustain the organization though this changing economic environment. We will continue to focus on strengthening our operations by developing new program evaluation methods that will enhance the value and impact of our programs of service. As we approach the 2010 year, we are steadfast in providing transparency to our membership and renewing the synergy with Rho Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Our 2009 Annual Report is dedicated with fond memories and a heavy heart to our beloved, deceased board member, Avonnee Brown.
With warmest sisterly regards,
Alison Riddle-Fletcher, DDS
